ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Uganda has one of the world’s youngest populations with over 78% of its population below the age of 30. With just under eight million aged 15-30, the country also has one of the highest youth unemployment rates in sub-Saharan Africa and 83% of the graduate population being unemployed.

This program is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and skills development among young people to innovate, startup and sustain their businesses. We not only equip them with skills but also empower them with information to run these businesses. Trained youth are then encouraged to come up with saving groups and a revolving fund for sustainability. A number of youths have been trained in different business ventures; including practical skills in book making, candle making etc, business planning and book keeping, and saving. This programmes mainly targets out of school young women and men and women, young mothers, People with Disabilities and people living with
